Pako's Summer Manga Festival! "Pyamp", which was in production throughout July, is now complete and available for distribution!

This year's theme is "Little Red Riding Hood" and "The Three Little Pigs." This year's third issue of Pumpkin Pup is "a parody of either story" and "five panels," these are the rules.

This year we welcomed families to join us! Thank you to everyone who participated!

Thanks to this, this year's pumpkins are a little thicker and much richer than last year's!

When I try to draw, I really get a sense of how amazing manga artists are. They have to combine story, characters, background, and effects into five panels. They create effective panels by looking at the ideas in their heads and reference materials, and they always want to add a punchline (laughs).

Every year I smile at the ideas my children come up with, but this year I also smiled a lot at the creations made by families! There were so many interesting creations!

I believe that having a child's work and their parents' work published in the same book will be a treasure for the future. I can imagine the children as adults opening their faded books. I'm sure they'll be grinning. I can't help but feel great when I see their faces and think that I'll be grinning in the sky.

The instructors who are participating are all people who have never drawn manga before the Pyamp project began. I myself haven't done any manga since I was a doodle in elementary school (lol).

The front and back covers feature pictures I carefully selected from the works of all the students in my elementary school class, cut them out, and colored them. Creating these was my summer! There are over 200 layers in Photoshop (lol).

The winners will be selected and announced on this blog in September!

This year, the prize has been changed from a T-shirt to a drawstring bag.

The Grand Prize Drawstring Bag Award went to 5 works from 75 elementary school students, the Sacoche Award went to 4 works from 75 elementary school students (selected again from the final selection works), and the Keychain Award went to 44 works from all 126 works (excluding those by the instructors) that were carefully selected by the 8 instructors without any bias, after much deliberation and time.

The selection criteria vary depending on the instructor, and include ideas, originality, interest, desire to express, artistic ability, favorite drawings, etc. This is a very good thing.

The announcement will also be made on Pako's official LINE. Stay tuned!

We look forward to seeing you again next year! We look forward to your participation with your family!
